I have a passion for working with non-profit organizations and helping them flourish. One of the non-profits that I have been working with since 2017 is the New Mexico Book Association (NMBA). NMBA aims to bring together enthusiastic people who enjoy writing or producing books. The NMBA was founded in 1994 as a 501(c)(6) organization and soon became a pioneer among statewide book publishing groups.
Through Artotems Co. I have do a wide range of work with the NMBA, ranging from managing their finances and membership, to planning and organizing events and workshops. We manage their website, where we make sure there is always useful and current information for their members. Along with this, each month we invite the members to send us news and information on their upcoming events that we compile into a newsletter and send out to all members.
The newsletters are a great way to keep members engaged and update them on the information from the most recent networking lunch meeting.
This year we helped plan the 25th Anniversary Gala hosted at the Wonder Institute, which brought together members who have been in the association from the start with even the newest members. It can sometimes be a challenge to coordinate all the moving parts that go into an event, but it is always rewarding to see it all come together. 60 members gathered and enjoyed an evening that honored winners of the Southwest Book Design Awards.
